AMSPAR Medical Terminology Programmes

Medical Terminology

Medical terminology is the core of many administrative and non-clinical roles in a healthcare setting.  Whilst it may not be necessary for individuals to use the terms in a clinical or diagnostic manner, the fact they understand them allows them to put their day to day work into a more meaningful context.

Terminology is particularly useful to administrators and secretaries who are closely involved as a link between clinicians and patients and in many cases are involved in the production of word processed reports and documents that relate to patients treatment.

AMSPAR offer Medical Terminology at two levels. We offer both levels via distance learning.  The courses are delivered via e-learning in a series of modules and take between 6 months and 9 months depending on the individual learner’s rate of progress.  The courses are assessed by means of examination set by AMSPAR.  The examinations are offered three times a year in November, February and June.
